Long description:  Gevuina avellana, Chilean Hazel bears small, abundant narrow clusters of creamy yellow to whitish flowers. Gevuina gives dark red cherry-like fruits. The fruit has edible nuts (when roasted) inside. The strong leathery foliage of Gevuina avellana is very showy and is therefore also used as cut foliage in Chile.
