Long description: Rhaphithamnus spinosus also known as Volkameria spinosa is an evergreen shrub to small tree. As the name indicates, Rhaphithamnus spinosus has vicious spines above its leaves. Rhaphithamnus bears bright purple flowers, which are followed by  small dark purple fruits. The foliage tends to get a purplish glow in autums / winter.
